Mention

I won’t get a proper mention
Because she knows how you feel
And doesn’t want to draw attention.
But when she’s upset with you,
Who do you think she turns to?
I’m on the other end of the phone
When she “goes to bed”
And leaves you alone.
You’re not right for her;
That’s something you already know,
But don’t worry,
She’s faithful.
She won’t let you go.
Your knee will bend before her,
And that will be the end of me.
I’ll lay down the key to her heart;
I’ll hide it under the mat.
She’ll step into the wedding ring,
And that will be that.
I won’t answer next time she calls.
I’ll be somewhere else;
Searching for something I’ll never find,
Because I had to leave it behind.
